This class will meet three times to work through the One Love Shawl by Joji Locatelli as a way to be introduced to lacework. Independent work will be needed in between classes. This pattern alternates between garter stitch sections and basic lace sections, using a single skein of fingering/sock weight yarn.
Class dates: 10/24 10am-noon, 11/7 10am-noon, 11/14 10am-noon
Instructor: Christine
Level: Advanced Beginner/Intermediate. Must know how to knit and purl, cast on and cast off, work flat. Familiarity with increases and decreases a plus.
Required Materials:
-1 skein wound into a cake of fingering/sock weight yarn - 420 yds or greater. Recommended: lighter colors and less variegated yarns will show lacework better. However, this project works well for many different colorways, and I have knit it in both extremes. So pick what makes you happy! Pictured is using one skein of our HYW Cloudy Day colorway.
-stitch markers
-US 7 needle at least 32"
*Materials purchased at Hartford Yarn Works for those registered for the class will be 10% off
-Please also already have purchased the pattern (available on Ravelry) and downloaded or printed it as desired.
Class is capped at 5 participants
